There is something very disturbing about sitting next to someone at Borders who's reading The Essential Hitler. And no, I was not sitting next to myself, as someone asked.

One time at a party I was lamenting to a friend about how public schools never force kids to read the classics anymore. Someone overhearing our conversation and wishing to enrich it, butted in and proceeded to list a series of required essentials including "Mein Kampf". Besides being over 500 pages of focused hate, it's largely one of the most unreadable works in any language. (Many senior Nazi's admitted they couldn't read it cover to cover for that simple point)
So the question I would love to have known if I weren't too afraid to ask is where in the hell did she go to high school...
